Lock 12 on The Erie Canal
Leaving the next morning we waited until after the first locking. Many boaters were anxious to get an early morning start but we thought with our rudder issues a less crowded lock might be a better idea.

By the way, any boaters going through Annapolis, you MUST have your dinghy registration clearly visible. It seems the local law enforcement (all levels) are quick to write tickets and slow to take explanations. Hudson had not had numbers on his hull, because they were not required in Canada.

I have two traditions. When I get to the Bahamas, I have a cracked conch sandwich and a cold beer. When I return to North America, I have a cheeseburger and a cold beer. And some people say I don’t have traditions.
